About Serafa

Last updated: July 2026

Our Mission

Serafa publishes real-time financial reference data — currency exchange rates, gold and precious metals prices, and cryptocurrency quotes — in English, Arabic, and Turkish. We aim to provide accurate, neutral, ad-supported information that helps individuals and small businesses make better-informed decisions about money.

What We Publish
  • Live exchange rates for 160+ world currencies, with country-localized pages and conversion tools.
  • Gold and silver spot prices, karat-based jewelry valuations, gold bar weight conversions, and Zakat calculators.
  • Cryptocurrency prices for the largest assets by market capitalization, with historical charts.
  • Educational guides on remittance, halal finance, inflation, and how rates are quoted and read.

Data Sources & Methodology

Currency, precious-metals, and cryptocurrency prices are served through Serafa's own market-data platform, which aggregates quotes from upstream financial data providers. We refresh rates throughout the trading day and timestamp every quote with its last-updated time. Our public methodology pages explain how derived figures (per-gram prices, karat purity, troy-vs-avoirdupois conversions) are calculated:

  • How Gold Prices Are Calculated
  • Gold Karats & Purity Explained
  • Gold Weight Units Explained

Editorial Standards

All content on Serafa is produced and reviewed against a consistent editorial process. We follow three principles: (1) cite the upstream data provider on every quote, (2) correct factual errors within 24 hours of discovery and timestamp the correction, and (3) clearly separate market data from opinion or educational content. We do not accept paid editorial placement, sponsored quotes, or affiliate-only review content.

Accuracy & Limitations

Although we work to keep data accurate and up-to-date, all rates on Serafa are reference figures for informational use only and may differ from the rates offered by banks, money-transfer operators, or bullion dealers. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. See our Financial Disclaimer for details.

About the editorial byline

Articles in our Guides section are bylined to Serafa. Each piece is researched, drafted, and fact-checked against our methodology pages before publication.

Every guide is reviewed before publication for factual accuracy, sourcing of any numerical claims to public datasets (IMF, ECB, LBMA, central bank releases), and clarity for a general financial audience. Drafts are written by a human editor; we do not auto-generate guide content. Corrections are issued transparently when errors are identified — use our Contact page to report one.

Serafa is an independently run publication with a background in financial reporting and FX-market analysis. Individual contributor bylines will be introduced as the publication grows.
